Every Sicon Art brush is handcrafted using traditional Chinese brush-making techniques passed down through generations. We use premium natural hair that holds water generously, releases pigment smoothly, and snaps back to a fine point. Unlike mass-produced brushes, each one is assembled, shaped, and tested by hand in our Dongguan workshop before it reaches you.
We use carefully selected natural hair blends including goat, weasel, and mixed hair. Each blend is chosen for specific painting needs – goat hair for soft washes and absorbency, weasel hair for spring and fine detail, and mixed blends for versatility. The specific hair type is listed in every product description so you can choose the right brush for your technique.
Yes. Our brushes are designed primarily for watercolour painting, but they work beautifully with Chinese ink, sumi ink, gouache, and diluted acrylics. The natural hair holds water-based media exceptionally well. We do not recommend using them with oil paints or solvent-based media, as these can damage the natural hair fibres.
After each painting session, rinse your brush gently under cool or lukewarm water until the water runs clear. Reshape the tip with your fingers and lay the brush flat or hang it tip-down to dry. Never leave brushes standing in water – this bends the hair and loosens the ferrule. Avoid using hot water, harsh soaps, or solvents. With proper care, a quality natural hair brush can last for years.
This is completely normal. New natural hair brushes are coated with a light sizing (starch) to protect the hair during shipping. To prepare your brush, simply soak the tip in cool water for a few minutes, then gently work the sizing out with your fingers. The brush will soften up and be ready to use.
We accept all major credit and debit cards (Visa, Mastercard, American Express) as well as other secure payment methods available through our checkout. All payments are processed through encrypted, PCI-compliant payment gateways. We never store your full card details on our servers.
If you need to change or cancel an order, email us at [email protected] as soon as possible. We can usually accommodate changes before the order has been packed and shipped. Once an order has been dispatched, it cannot be cancelled – but you can return it under our Return & Exchange Policy.
Absolutely. Our website is secured with SSL/TLS encryption (HTTPS), meaning all data transmitted between your browser and our server is encrypted. Payments are processed through trusted third-party payment gateways – we never see or store your full card number. Your personal information is handled according to our Privacy Policy.
Yes, we ship worldwide. All orders are dispatched from our workshop in Dongguan, China. Shipping costs and estimated delivery times vary by destination and are calculated at checkout. For full details, see our Shipping Policy.
Orders are processed within 2-5 business days. Delivery time after dispatch depends on your country, the shipping method selected, and local customs processing. Estimated delivery times are shown at checkout when available. Please allow extra time for remote areas and during peak seasons.
Depending on your country’s regulations, your order may be subject to customs duties, import taxes, or other charges upon arrival. These fees are determined by your local customs authority and are the responsibility of the customer. SiconArt has no control over these charges and cannot predict their amount.
If your shipping method includes tracking, you will receive tracking details via email once your order has been dispatched. You can also visit our Track Your Order page for step-by-step instructions. We accept returns within 30 days of delivery for items that are unused, unwashed, and in their original packaging. Brushes must not have been tested with water, ink, or paint. Please contact us at [email protected] before sending anything back. For full details, see our Return & Exchange Policy.
If you receive a damaged, defective, or wrong item, contact us within 7 days of delivery at [email protected]. Include your order number, clear photos of the issue, and a short description. We will arrange a free replacement, resend, or refund depending on the situation. You will not need to pay for return shipping on defective items.
Once we receive and inspect a returned item (or approve a refund for a damaged/defective order), refunds are typically processed within 5-7 business days. The refund will be credited back to your original payment method. Please note it may take an additional few days for the refund to appear on your statement, depending on your bank or card provider.
